  • Associates

    Open to architecture degree holders, those working under an architect or in AXP, or faculty.

    Join AIA as an Associate member and be part of our mission to design a more sustainable, equitable world. Through your Associate membership, you'll join forces with more than 94,000 other members—the largest, most influential network of architecture professionals—who together are leveraging the power of design to advance climate action and racial and gender equity in our industry and beyond. Raise your voice and design a better world with the AIA community.

    Associate membership is open to those who have a professional degree in architecture, work under the supervision of an architect, are enrolled in AXP, or are a faculty member in a university architecture program.

  • Associate New Graduates

    Free for new architecture school grads, for up to 18 months.

    With your new architecture degree, you’re ready to join AIA and be part of our mission to design a more sustainable, equitable world. As a new graduate, your membership is free*, for up to 18 months!

    Through your Associate New Graduate membership, you’ll join forces with more than 94,000 other members—the largest, most influential network of architecture professionals—who together are leveraging the power of design to advance climate action and racial and gender equity in our industry and beyond. Raise your voice and design a better world with the AIA community.

    Associate New Graduate membership is open to first-time AIA members who have recently graduated with a professional degree in architecture.

  • International Associates

    Open to architects licensed outside the U.S.

    AIA represents the international architectural community, and our mission to design a more sustainable, equitable world requires international participation. Join AIA as an International Associate member and you’ll join forces with more than 94,000 other members—the largest, most influential network of architecture professionals. Together we’re leveraging the power of design to advance climate action and racial and gender equity in our industry and beyond. Raise your voice and design a better world with the AIA community.

    International Associate membership is open to individuals who have an architecture license or equivalent from a non-US licensing authority regardless of their current location. Individuals who have a license from a US-authority are not eligible for the International Associate membership.

  • National Allied Individuals

    Open to professionals in allied industries.

    Design and construction decisions in every industry have lasting effects. Join AIA as a National Allied Individual member and show the world you’re committed to building a zero-carbon, healthy, just, and equitable world for everyone. And with the industry’s largest, most influential network and more than 94,000 members, you’re in good company, too. Raise your voice and design a better world with the AIA community.

    National Allied Individual membership is open to established, registered professionals and others practicing in fields closely related to architecture, including engineers, planners, landscape architects, sculptors, muralists, artists, and others in government, education, journalism, manufacturing, industry, and more.

    National Allied membership is at the national level only. For local or state allied or affiliate membership, contact your nearest AIA chapter.
