The AIA, its members, and its employees want to express our deepest concern for all of those affected by the flooding. With more than 60,000 homes damaged and waterlines as high as 10 feet, this is a tragedy that requires our support as architects.
Soon after the devastation, the volunteer leaders and staff that make up the AIA's Disaster Assistance Program began coordinating with local and state chapters in Louisiana, along with area members and the Disaster Assistance Committee. Leaders at AIA Baton Rouge, in particular, have been in touch with local officials and are actively seeking ways to assist those who've suffered as a result of these floods.
